Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Cuts coming soon

Contractual raise coming July 1st. Reduction of agreement employees to offset the additional cost of payroll coming soon. Vena will sugar coat it at the next town hall by saying “This is how we win”.

Bulldozer guy was probably one of them that got cut, right along with his Vena's inner circle source guy that seemed to know everything.

Had to reduce my credit card expenses by 10%. I put my card in desk drawer and don’t use it anymore. Too much of a headache to use now. I order things on e procurement and wait weeks for things to arrive. Takes much longer now , as have to wait for manager approval now to buy from UP purchasing dept .

We already had to cut 5% out of the budget to cover this year's raises. Superintendent came down in April and said all terminals he was in charge of had to cut 5%. So we stopped serving certain customers everyday. Eliminated jobs and pushed that work to other jobs and even other railroads.

And. I'm sure our insurance will max out and union dues increase again. And no more raises for another 3 or so years.......

Hey why not? There isnt enough people to do anything correctly right now nor enough people to do everything that needs to be done. So lets cut more people, give more money to the shareholders, and just do even less maintenance and repairs. What could go wrong?
