Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Thanks Walt for the travel mug

I worked free overtime on nights and weekends for the past 18 months because our team is understaffed but the workload kept increasing. We asked for help and was told we all need to sacrifice

In 2009, you received a base salary of $900,000. It's over 23 million now and you will get enormous stock options over the next few years. You should write a book on how to squeeze company employees for a 24x return on salary and tens of millions of stock options

But sincerely, thanks for the travel mug and getting to waste my time at the office in Denver when my entire team works in another state. Can't wait to hear from you how successful your firm is over the next year.

In 2024 People are giving Sh!t Swag and now they've got you by the b@lls and will make you come to the office and work long hours. This should be a life lesson to younger folks in their 20s and 30s. Your sh!t managers and worthless d!rectors will bleed you to death be careful. Move out before it is too late. You don't want to be here in your 40s or 50s wondering where all those years went and what a waste of time it was...

Y'all are mo--ns for doing work. Stop working and just collect your pay check. I've been doing it for the past 5 years.

I ordered it since I was worried they would send me follow up emails reminding me to order it. I can always send it to ARC or Goodwill.

The guy has a nice monitor. An Apple Studio Display with the expensive height adjustable stand. On a very clean desk, that has nothing on it. Zilch. Nada. Nutin. How do you keep youmdesk so clean? $23M a year.

Time showed us a demo around 2 years ago in STS where they had it set up. It's Schwab though so it is probably still being dragged on.

I am 57 who got recently bumped up from 56. Overtime compensation? What a joke! I worked many overtime hours and had many sleepless nights. All this was done to keep up and get a good rating in hope of being promoted to 57. Thankfully I was promoted, but what option do we have in this economy? What about people that were not promoted and have no option to jump the boat??!! Schwab seriously needs a correction.

Grade 56's are non-exempt employees. If a manager makes a 56 work overtime without compensation they are breaking company rules and probably labor laws depending on where they are located. If you are a 56 that was forced to work uncompensated overtime you have a case. Lawyer up!

Funny you mention free overtime

All three of the 56s on my team have to work OT without pay just to keep up. Thanks to dealing with all of the audits and conversion fallout. But mostly because we lost two of our team members to layoffs

This company is trash. Nobody cares. But everyone gets a free cr-ppy shirt

They want attrition so they don’t get bad press about more layoffs. How do you accomplish this? Make is as uncomfortable as possible for employees

OP: what do you mean by “free overtime” are you hourly and weren’t reporting hours over 40, or are you salaried? If salaried, the concept of overtime doesn’t exist, but I get that in a way it’s “free overtime” to you, just technically not so, unfortunately.

You got a day off too! /s

I’m more upset by Chuck’s raise. There was a time when he’d see his employees get a 75% bonus, small raises if any, and work their as--s off for a massive merger and say, you know, I have $10 billion and a high salary, I don’t really need a 10% bonus too.

We’ve never seen Walt or the EC be that altruistic.

Travel mug, day off, Amazon gift cards, hours a week spent commuting, less than inflation raise, small bonus, restricted training, limited capital spending, stock price struggling with a departing CFO… paradise!

The guy ruined this company And his EC minions all got fat on the hog with him.

Lol did anyone actually order one of those pathetic old navy schwags?

We were all laughing at it in our team meeting today.
