Post from TheLayoff.com

H1B are not taking American jobs. Instead, they are creating more American Jobs.
Without H1B folks who contributing to the US economy, US company will move the entire R&D team to India.

"The end number for VMware is around 15k"..wow..you must be smoking crack.

Total BC head count itself was 20K in 2023 (before the acquisition). You are expecting BC is so generous to keep 15K from vmware out of 37K ? BC is not an asylum camp of Prince Newsom. This will never happen. Max. only 7K brother.

The end number for VMware is around 15k so plenty more layoffs to go.

Where the fuxk did this magical number of 7k come from that apparently BC needs to get too ?

Some people just dribble absolute kak, wait it’s the layoff MBA experts…

the truth is your manager already has the list to share next week

This thread is so ridiculous.
VCF, along with the rest of VMware, already went through the broad initial layoffs and staff reduction. There could be more, of course, but stop this non-sense speculation and cite real sources.
There was a time when people on this board were very specific. I.e. I heard from this person, on this date, and in this meeting, about xyz. And that used to be fairly reliable as confirmed by impacted people in real time.
Do any of you actually have insights into the actual past quarter bookings numbers? You clearly don't. Also look over at the broadcom thread and see notes about actual VMC layoffs, which technically falls under the VCF division.

long way to go to 7K..... Some reductions will come from EUC exiting, and probably shedding PSO, GSS to partners like HCL. Its going to be a mix bag but it sure fits Hock's playbook.
on H1B, yes, many go to South Asians, but H1Bs are a small fraction of the jobs available out there. It is also not cheap to sponsor a H1B. And no, I am not on a H1B, just trying to look at things logically.

However, offshoring is bad for jobs in the US. They need to bring more jobs back to the US.

Always thought VCF will lose market value quickly without VMC, the rumor makes sense

Why VCF only? VCF has only 8700 employees, while the total #of VMware is around 28K. We need to cut other non-engineering instead.

Where is this info coming from? I've seen nothing but this and the Reddit thread.

Honestly VCF is one giant elephant. Funniest part is lot of folks from various vmware IT teams (remember most of them are on H1Bs taking away American jobs) also moved to VCF group after acquisition.

Now is the time folks. Let the cut begin.

Hockey Tan's golden idea is to bring down vmw number from 37K to 7K within a year (Nov'2024). He saw this number written in a fortune cookie while dining in a PA downtown restaurant.
