Either CEO is incompetent on what is happening with BG operations or he doesnt care. BG business hasnt delivered results since i have been at NMG (2014). We lost good people. Darcy and Cheryl have single handedly thrown all the money at useless strategic programs, done favors to friends(consulting companies). Get rid of them first.
This whole farfetch discussion came up in 2017/2018 and it was a unanimous decision that it was a bad deal. Why did they sign up again? They flat out refused to understand what great platform we had vs wanted some confirmation that something else out there (farfetch platform) was better (classic case of confirmation bias).
Then they went to a vengence rampage of bad mouthing others who didnt agree with their thinking. What then happens? top talent leaves and you are left with below avg support staff who keep saying "yes darcy, yes cheryl" to everything they say.
We will be talking about this and these two again. Feels like Sears story to me.
Given his history of hires and promotions there shouldn't be a surprise. But that's not being fair to either of the people promoted. It is fair to ask about what's going on at BG. Does anyone working there deserve a promotion - we've had more changes in direction and strategy and the numbers reflect that. Darcy can do it! No, let's bring in FarFetch. No, that won't work.
