Our site likes to ignore problems. The manager tells our director we are on schedule, but he is never around to notice the truth. Everyone has been using layoffs as an excuse to do nothing. I worry this cycle of firings will repeat when it becomes apparent we didn’t meet our goals next year. MEIC replaces people but they often fail to complete work or they turn in low quality work that needs to be looked over and wastes time.

Medtronic adores consultants. Lay-off people and pay ridiculous money to consultants, whose ideas are marginal at best. Such a scam.
McKinsey consulting will read your comment, turn in into a PowerPoint slide deck, charge $15,000 for the slide deck and then convince the leadership team to spend $300,000 to work on culture to fix the problem.

Speak up then. Make a difference and justify your ideas. Otherwise you’re just a whiner.
