I joined Suncor from Cenovus. A higher title for a similar technical position but with a lower base pay. I start on the 3rd. I am excited. HR promises me over $60K in RSU awards that vest in only three years.

I quit my role at Suncor and forget about all the RSUs. I care about work/life balance not money. And with the recent layoffs, you'll get a sense that RSU's are just a promise, and not real money. A LOT can change in 3 years.
Oil and gas majors are in trouble. Big trouble is that they think talent is only in 2 of them
25k x 3 years = 75k cut for 60k (not guaranteed) in 3 years. Sounds like Suncor loves hiring people like you.
I disagree with @3okc+1sOE4Dz4 analysis. My base went down by $25k but RSUs up $60k so I am ahead by $35k. I know math is hard for some people.
RSU isn’t guaranteed. Taking a role for less base is laughable with you “bragging” here
