Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

For those wanting to leave early

Verified with HR last week that you can indeed request an early severance if you want to leave before the axe comes down, or when it does come down to leave sooner.

RIF dates are not set in stone and can be adjusted. Not later, just sooner. May help some shorten the agony called working for Nielsen. I for one will be taking advantage of it.

“ pleased to announce I was granted an early severance after speaking to HR.
thank you for providing this forum. I worked in the call center Oldsmar
good luck to all this board really does work .”

Awesome job and congrats! Also pleased to say I can too confirm this.

Feels so incredibly good to be done with the sh*t hole called Nielsen earlier than expected, including the low self esteem coworkers and mismanagement. For those working hard to get ahead, keep pushing. To those whining constantly, good riddance.

New jobs starts in a few weeks which will overlap some with the severance period. Can’t come soon enough. Work on the TAM side behind the scenes. Thx.

This a great information and news. I wanted to work until my last day but the stress is becoming overwhelming and making me sick.

For real. Have distanced myself from LinkedIn due to all of the requests for connections coming from India. Sometimes 3 to 5 each day.

Story is all the same. “Nielsen Engineer, Analyst or whatever XY&Z job title” with a paper mill degree or most recent job title of working in a grocery store or similar low skill job with a LinkedIn profile three months old.

Get lost … to both them, Nielsen and soon LinkedIn too. Don’t want to hear from any of them.

oh yeah Indian new hires are soooo unhappy, and want severance already, that's why they’re flooding Linkedin and trying to add everyone who ever worked here and posting Yay Nielsen bs.

I don’t begrudge someone having to work, we all do, but the fact so many new hires care so little about those of us affected is obnoxious. I mean, they have to know they’re replacing the majority of us, right? Did they not even google Nielsen stability and layoffs? 25

Can we do this in India? What are the terms?

“Where are the layoffs I was promised? I’m so tired of working with id--ts”

Reach out then to HR and inquire about an early RIF and severance. Think you’ll be pleasantly surprised as both are available if you simply ask.

Unless you have another job, stay employed as long as possible!

No way, not in this market. Do the bare minimum, apply for a new job then take the severance!
