Long term target is less than 50 thousand employees. Achieved by divestment, outsourcing and pips. Almost all of the redundancy from the HC10 countries.
If you don’t believe Pioneer headcount will be greatly reduced just remember that Exxon and Mobil had a combined headcount of almost 115k just before the “merger”. The combined company now has just over 60k employees. Mergers and acquisitions only benefit one class of employees and guess what, it ain’t the worker bees.

At first nothing will noticeably change for most of you Pioneer folks. Then a few XOM managers will take a few positions and things will start to be a little different. Then a few years later you will be fully Exxonized to the point you no longer recognize the company you once worked for. Luckily, there will probably be half of the headcount you currently have by the time the full assimilation takes place. Being bought is kind of like being discovered. Never good. Congratulations.
Pioneer folks , you really have no idea of what is in store for you; you think your efficiency will show, but you are so wrong. Mobil thought the same. XTO thought the same. The one eyed man is the king in the land of the blind, and xom will assimilate you by taking a hot poker into both your eyes. OIMS will be your king and you will suffer a three year slow death until you are PIPD or quit on your own accord. I feel sad for you pioneer people as you really have no idea how big Xom’s di-k is when it is gonna be presented to you when you bend over each day. Good luck.
