I’m an Exxon employee for past 21 years in US/Middle East And found out just recently that ex Imperial CEO Rich is not Suncor CEO.
Why tf would Suncor pay to get Rich out of retirement and onboard him….. he’s an old fa-t and his peak was spent working at Exxon/Imperial…. Whatever he had he’s used up here…. Trust me he hasn’t got anything much to offer and defs not worth $38M that’s crazy.
Also, hiring a lifer from a supermajor is a super bad move…. God knows where his loyalty lies…..for all you know he could still have a massive soft spot for Exxon and Imperial. The CEO is the last person you want joining your company looking to make a quick buck… imo all CEOs should be chosen from within the organization…. Their emotional attachment to the organization and love and compassion for its people is very important for them to succeed at their role. That’s my 2 cents.
