Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

What about the WARN act?

Were you laid off? WARN Act
The WARN Act requires an employer to notify employees, in writing, 60 days before a layoff, and pay the employee for those 60 days, in addition to any severance the employee may be entitled to. Unfortunately, some employers attempt to circumvent the law. If your employer did not provide you the 60 days’ notice (and pay you for those 60 days), please contact the Federal Department of Labor (DOL) or your state’s WARN office for help.

The original Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) was a Federal law that applied to all 50 states. Since the Federal WARN law was passed, most states have enacted a state WARN Act.

Among other things, the state WARN acts require employers to report layoff statistics to a state office. In fact, an employer may report the number of employees they intend to layoff, by location, before the layoff and report that information to a state WARN act office.

Therefore, assuming the employer complied with state law, you might be able to learn about the number of employees an employer intends to layoff, by location, before the layoff. Otherwise, you can determine the number of employees that were laid off after the layoff.

If your employer laid off employees and you don’t find the layoff statistics on the sites below, you may anonymously report this to your state’s office responsible for the WARN act, and they will instruct the employer to report the statistics

The way they are skirting the WARN act…..the rule is, if you are letting go more than 10% of that sites talent, you have to let WARN know. If they trickle a few people out each week for a long period of time, it skirts the system. There is the loophole and they are using it. HR controls all that, but what HR doesn’t know? If they have been paying attention to what the company propaganda says, and read what the upcoming trends are going to be for HR people, they too will not have jobs. HR is being phased out. This will affect us little guys the most. Let’s play the what if game. What if the above is true? What if you have an insurance claim that is not getting paid? What if L3harris decides to not pay their bills to the self insured premiums? There will be no one to talk to at the company, it all goes third party. Now third party have your information, the insurance has your information, the company has your information. It would suggest an easy hack of your information because instead of two companies it will be spread to many companies. And that my friends spells bad news for us workers. If you get hacked the company will not care. L3harris controls nothing anymore. They hire it done. They are continually creating climate of not having a clue, a clear case of imposter syndrome at the top. Kubasik, this is for you. I watched your last quarterly earning report via mainstream media. You have a horrible poker face. I can read your body language like a book. You are either hiding something or not telling the truth. You are a friggen imposter. If this peon knows, it’s only a matter of time before you are found out! Will you coward out Kubasik? Everyone has a conscience, question is, how strong is yours? Maybe you should call the su----e hotline. You are messing with 45,000 lives!

It has to be a certain percentage of the employees on the site (33% or more) or 500 full time employees. The Greenville purge did not qualify for that.
