Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

FTC to continue fighting

Deal is not closing anytime soon if at all. The Biden appointment (FTC) board that has a 3-2 majority is going the distance on stopping this deal.

Rickey had always been a traditional man. Growing up in Midland, Texas, he held onto his conservative values tightly, never straying from his beliefs. He worked for years in the oil and gas industry, climbing the corporate ladder with pride. But when the oil market took a downturn, Rickey found himself laid off, unsure of what to do next.

Determined to not let this setback define him, Rickey decided to take matters into his own hands. Drawing on his years of experience in the industry, he started his own oil and gas company. With hard work and determination, he built the company from the ground up, eventually catching the eye of Exxon.

Exxon made Rickey an offer he couldn't refuse, buying out his company for a substantial sum. Rickey found himself once again faced with a new beginning, unsure of where to turn. That's when his friend Plano Jim stepped in.

Plano Jim had always been the more tech-savvy of the two, easily navigating the world of computers and social media. With his help, Rickey decided to embark on a new venture - a poke bowl company. While unfamiliar with the concept himself, Rickey trusted in Jim's expertise.

Together, they launched the poke bowl company, catering to the tastes of fancy city people who had taken a liking to the trendy dish. With Plano Jim's help, they franchised the company, expanding their reach far beyond the borders of Texas.

Through hard work, determination, and the help of a loyal friend, Rickey found success in a world he never thought he would enter. And as he looked back on his journey, he couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected turns life had taken him on.

Don't be daft. ExxonMobil already owns it, and in the immortal words of Tom Petty, they won't back down.

I think I got outed as the Earth's Janitor Wet mop guy, being a 20-year employee of Mama Pioneer and packaged out in 2019. Most of the time in the Environmental Department when there were only 2-3 employees and later a big career mistake working in the Fac. Department. The Facilities VP who finally pursued other interests had a five fingered discount and Pioneer coppers eating out of both of his hands. Had it been investigated it would have been an embarrassment at the Corp level in branded cattle, airport parked vehicles, and free ranch style home and acreage for his sonny boy and tons of electronic equipment; that VP must have had pictures of some immoral act. It did sour me on the company and when packages were offered, I took it. I do feel apprehension for the 500 employees at LCO and where will they go, the field folks have a better chance of surviving. It will be interesting how the Northern Invasion will dock their island in the Woodlands after the wedding, they may have hit an iceberg. If anything like the Mesa and Parker and Parsley merger will be winners and losers. M&A are occurring in the airlines, grocery stores and petroleum, the human impact is rarely assessed.

I hope it closes soon, I've already picked out my McMansion in the Woodlands and financed two new Ford Raptors.
