Clifton has been clearing out excess office furniture and equipment for months now. walking tours have been given and the rumor is that the 1 million square feet of space is too hard to resist. valuable real estate for New Jersey right on route 3. Melbourne has been wanting to move space and airborne systems manufacturing to Florida for a couple of years now. they are not interested in the people, just the product. the jobs were promised to Floridians for continued tax breaks down there.
I head rumors of 24% IMS, 3% SAS and unknown CS.
I have it on good authority that Rochester got off very light and that Clifton may have had more layoff than all of Rochester.
