A few colleagues in California had been letgo today (4/16). They have different Corp titles and are all given same-day notice (45-day notice period with zero work expectation during the period.) So they are all goners by EOD. That's cruel.

Its happening again, got my 45 day notice in Sep. 2024 with your position has been eliminated due to location strategy. They’re just laying off remote workers.

This will be an ongoing action. You know cut our way to success. Reality is that they need to get back to pre- UnionBank numbers, which means slashing heads. Tokyo should take over , the American executives really don’t know how to run a company.
More people in Technology are being cut in June 2024. MUFG is being sly and does this under the state's WARN act threshold (e.g., New Jersey only requires WARN notice if the layoff involves 50 or more people). So, we can't see it coming but every month so far, people are being cut.
Meanwhile, some MDs and directors are just grabbing anything they can get hold of in order to secure their jobs. They often do VP or AVP level works while recommending cutting the said VP/AVP... Sad.
💯, it happened to me in January. MUFG is letting go of people left and right and the same people pushing to go to Tampa are the same people stepping down recently.
