Regardless of the outcome of the May 9 Proxy Vote, PSR is returning. The Shareholders will force it no matter which Management team wins.
Ancora and Boychuck claim they will rely on Attrition to reduce employees. While I don't wholy believe that statement, attrition will happen. Because Ancora's team is going to make working at NS a total nightmare. They will make it so unbearable to force people to quit. It looks better than "Furloughs", or "Layoffs".
I hope all who are able to vote, votes to keep Shaw and his Board members for the sake of the Employees, there family's, and our Customer's who will also truly Suffer.

We went through tis in the Northeast forty years ago on the Delaware and Hudson Railway. The problem you have is technology overtime will reduce the railroads cost by adding in new found efficiency. When they closed half the yards on the DH everyone had to shuffle to a far away terminals. The old timers back then stayed- I was young with 9 years seniority in the Train Dispatchers department, and those cuts when Mellon took over put me back on the extra board. I was young enough to change careers, earned a BA in business and never looked back. I cursed Tim Mellon back then, but today I thank him. LOL
The Attrition will come through the point based attendance system that will be puy in place. Let the new guys hang themselves
Ladies and Germs...the Attendance Point System is coming to NS by end of May!!
Why are unions supporting Ancora ? Can anyone please explain the advantage for union workers ?
Agree, no faith in Shaw. If current management gets by this takeover attempt and fails to produce expected results before the end of 2024 they will go full PSR .
I wouldn’t put a ton a faith in the idea that as long as Shaw and the board stays the future is all golden. Shaw and most of the board aren’t brand new to the RR. He’s a good talker and he’s taking a certain stance during the Ancora deal. But get real, he doesn’t care and will change stances at a snap of the fingers when things change behind the scenes. I still remember when Squires came around do town-halls promising no layoffs… within a year NS had some of the biggest layoffs in its entire history
Ok.
100% agree. If they cut me again I won't be back. There will be nothing to return to anyway. This company will be so toxic after cutting all the new hires they won't be able to hire for a generation.
Ancora is proposing storing hundreds of Locomotives and cars, that will lead to the loss of hundreds of employees .They have a specific number to cut based on number of units stored, fewer trains fewer ops employees.
PSR will cut to the bare bone, and no way to grow business, Harrison realize that and tried to take over other RR, he failed.
My PSR is better than your PSR its all BS, we don’t have power to run anything as is. No mechanical to fix any problems. Boychuck would gut the place, leave 1-2 humps open. The “attrition” would be them asking you to transfer 100-200 miles to an open terminal to work and obviously 95 percent would decline the offer. They’re all puppets on a string. The fact that we’re dealing with this again a year after a billion dollar derailment due to a block swapped 6 times shows you they don’t give a cr-p about safety.
