Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

No support for legacy technology

If you need support for any legacy technology be it a TDM switch or some other equipment good luck. There is no more support for central office techs. The company has lost all its human resources who knew this equipment. Call into the NOC now and all you get is"I don't know that equipment, I do transport." This is why Lumen is failing.

Within all the posts here are the clueless employees the ones from Level3?

In Washington we just had a 40+ year tech quit who could either fix anything remotely or walk you through how to fix it in a few minutes because they had enough. Supervisors only seem to know how to sign a time sheet and are absolutely no help. So sad!

Lumen has, once again, a new batch of exec leaders that are clueless in the roles they have. TDM has always been the bread and butter of the company. It paid the bills while the company tried to clap their hands and say they were a technology company. They've given away or sold off their very bloodline. Now all they have is the "technology" side of the house that has never produced. And now the bills are not getting paid. TDM isn't going anywhere. It was all paid off and pure income. Sure there was maintenance costs. Budget it, fund it and keep maintaining it. Pure income. Then continue to clap your hands and preach DEI and pretend you're a techo company. But no, some weak, woke techno want to be exes thought they know better.

Why?,because 80% of are customers have 720 TVs,and can’t afford 4k. And don’t wanna switch to 4k.

I disagree. To put in in laymen’s term why would a company invest in supporting and selling 720p tvs when world is in 4k plus tvs.

That is how companies like Polaroid, Kodak, Blockbuster don’t exist they failed to innovate. Same with Lumen if the innovation fails Lumen will be gone in a few years

I’m in az. Switch to fiber? 3/4 of the customers can’t get it. F.a.s.t. Doesn’t work. Datu doesn’t work. Tech mart doesn’t work. Tech2go doesn’t work. Let’s turn all the customers on atm dsl off because we can’t get parts to keep it running. Do your survey. This place is a joke of a company. To bad I love what I do.

down here in Arizonia we were told to assign a low priority to legacy technology issues. We were told that the priority is on fiber customers and to encourage our customers to move off of the old technology since support is no longer available

That is the problem and why company is failing. Some people are stuck in old technologies POTS, TDM etc are old school declining technologies that are being retired. Lumen does need to move on and customers on that old tech will struggle to get that service in marketplace and in future. New more efficient and cost effective technology has replaced legacy solutions

I took volunteer EOI because they got rid of what made them who they are; trying to chase new Technologies and Automation. So sad how low it has gone because of few people's decisions.

No surprise there.
The Lumen's plan is to ki-l anything that uses TDM, DMS, POTS. Anything legacy services.

You honestly think that this company cares about it's customers? Please. The Titanic is sinking and the boats are being filled up to the rim. You best have an exit plan from this disaster!
