Keep your severance letter. When you apply for unemployment, upload that document. If you are denied benefits, explain you were severed & then were eligible to retire. Again, upload the letter and follow up w a call if needed. It takes a few weeks. You should have no problem being approved after this. Good luck.

I have been impacted in the recent Pepsico reorg. I am 61 years old and eligible for a pension. PepsiCo laid me off as an early retiree. However, I am uncertain about my eligibility to claim unemployment benefits once my severance package is completed. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone has information regarding the eligibility criteria for unemployment benefits in my situation. Thank you.

Ex PEP here. Don't sweat the layoff should it get you. Lost my role to GBS two years ago. I'm of a certain age that companies don't want to hire so never found a comparable job. Living paycheck to paycheck now but I can tell you with certainty that wondering if I'll have enough for groceries this week is exponentially less stressful than working for the s***h01e called PEP. Chins up all. Life is better on the outside, I guarantee it!

They are using the guise of PGT, GEO & SAP integration to knock the hourly and salaried head counts down. New plant directors are taking a lot away from supervisors and giving to managers. Oddly this is occurring mainly in manufacturing; guess we're not selling like the old days?

I’m hearing there will be layoffs throughout the year and it transforms into an agile company. In phases, they’re going after legacy personnel, then towers. Also, looking to flatten and consolidate the leadership teams.

The legacys who are taking the package are being let go in phases. Most already know, but had to agree to confidential agreements not to go public.

They never end. Pepsi is constantly looking for that elusive productivity.

One wave just blends into another.

Keep learning and expanding your skills - don’t worry about the whims of some overpaid exec

@1uxv+1s0vU9pu. same for me, my role done at the end of the year, maybe a bit in to 2025, keep saying they will try to find me a role. not sure what happens if there are no roles. Not motivated to look for a tole either.
almost 20 years at the company and the only time I applied to a role the told me no because they didn't want payroll issues, yet MBS is what they got!!

I have been informed that my role will end by Dec 31st this year and company has indicated to me what end of service will be like. Have been with company for over 15 years. They are saying they will try to find a role within the company. Not sure how to carry out any conversations on that front with senior management as I have been quite demotivated with the company for past 2 years as they haven’t promoted me in over 5 years despite me voicing this issue.

Is there any guidance anybody would like to provide?
