Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

An outsider wondering what the heck is happening at Baker Hughes

I left BKR more than three years ago.

I held on to my stock hoping the company would soon break itself up - or that shareholders/the board would eventually get fed up with the poor returns and boot the management team.

Why haven’t either of those things happened yet? How can Weatherford’s share price be on a rocket, and BKR never seems to move at all - why are investors OK with this?

Anyway I’ve grown impatient and started selling shares, but tell me why this is taking so long.

Let's face it, the wheels have come off the cart. It doesn't mater who's fault it is now, baker is in decline and it isn't going to recover to what it was. The best anyone can hope for is it limps on long enough to get your money out or if you are an employee find a new job somewhere else.

Ge oil and gas was a loser company. Unfortunately the bunch of losers from there sunk baker hughes to this mismanaged pile of horse manure it is now. I worked there from the oil tools day and am embaressed i stayed to witness the sinking of a good company.

@3qcg+1rzYyh4y your estimate is understated due to not counting the additional time needed to shoot the load.

Figuring it takes an average of 10 minutes to do a number 2, Baker Hughes pays Lorenzo $1,282.00, while he sits on the seat with the hole in it.

There is a weird cult like status within Baker. Go to LinkedIn and see just how many people post replies about the great leadership.
Some of those cult members have recently lost their jobs with the latest reshuffle and it would be interesting to get their true perspective in a month or two as I am sure they will have a much clearer vision of the company.

LS will be on his way soon as he’s been around quite a long time for a CEO and with this his leadership team.

Hopefully this happens before any further splits or potential selling to another company.

If you can say the right buzzwords in a board meeting and make fancy PowerPoints, the Leadership team is like a cat with a laser beam. Can you actually sell things? No, but I make great PowerPoints. Congratulations you are now a Director.

If Lorenzo and Maria’s approach got results, then I’d understand and they’d have wide leeway to keep bing toxic, as long as the performance is there. But my point is, the performance is not there, so how long will the investors put up with it? They’ve had nearly 7 years. Do investors not want to make money?? I truly don’t get it.

Baker is run by Lornezo and Maria who fire anyone who says no to them even if it's the right thing to do. So they lie and tell them everything is going great until the quarter ends. Then she after one too many drinks tells her staff to fire fire fire. Then promote someone to a vp of technology for a product line because not of their brains and accomplishments, but their gender.
