I worked at L3H and knew people with longer tenure (25+ years) who loved it there until this absolute black hole of a CEO came along. Just read he came out of retirement to bone thousands more people to pad his own, unearned, overfull wallet and that of sHaReHoLdErS and you have my deepest condolences.

Look forward to unethical business practice akin to Boeing, steep and quick reduction in worker benefits, and of course, loss in promotions and a marked decrease in annual pay raises. It'll be a game of how much less spending power you have this year vs the last.

Please get out of there if you can, crossing my fingers for everyone at 3M. Shameful corporate leadership, morals and priorities from people like him, to his benefit and and your expense.

His mentality is that employees are an expense, and not an asset.

Makes this company feels old when the incumbent CEO is already in 60s

Board could not find anyone! So they went for whoever said yes! Heck … I would do it for $10million a year

Just curious...Is Bill Brown and Bobby Brown related?

This tells me that 3M and the board had a very difficult time finding someone who would be willing to join 3M at top brass. Qualification did not matter.

Who else but a mediocre CEO would be willing to take on the mess that is Remainco, while Roman continues to be head of the board?

SIBG, 250 known, significant USAC impact. Q2-EOY, yep, certainly would anticipate cuts. 3M is going lean and going extinct. The only alternative is to lead, but there are no leaders. Learn Spanish or learn LinkeIn

It certainly seems like more layoffs are in Mr Brown's tool kit.

This feels like a move to gut 3M and breakup the remains. Roman managed cuts and litigation settlements while spinning healthcare, now Brown will gut the remains and manage the final breakup. Sorry if you are still at 3M

People, he was hired to make all the hard decisions MR didn’t have the b@!!$ to do. He will be making dramatic changes to transform the remaining industrial divisions into a smaller, leaner company with no regard for culture or people. This is the next phase of the reinvention of 3M. Good luck CBG….. nothing but a cash machine now.

How did this happen? Did we get the last pick on the playground?

Oh, no, -- totally intentional. A CEO is hired for a reason.
