I am curious what percentage of Scarborough will be retained or re-trained.

Hey cat meow .happy caturday. Gonna miss caturdays :(
I know what you mean about it sinking in that closure is near. We have a few Caturdays to share so let’s get out our best meows.
Caturdays for us
Going to miss everyone at Scarborough. Working with the knowledge that it will soon be over is starting to grind on my brain.
going to miss our Caturdays.
Good for you, Scarborough and Nielsen as a whole are just an uncomfortable place to work at. All these nasty comments are a bad reflection of what Scarborough used to be.
They said your HIRED !!!! Just got notice I got selected for a job I interviewed for recently . HR and Management said my skill set was strong with my many +12 years of doing Nielsen Surveys.
Went to a job fair and got a new job , its REMOTE and I really enjoyed interviewing with the leadership. I have a start date and couldn't be more excited or ecstatic to start my new journey. glad i'm glad I got there before all the new layoffs from here will be competing for work.
how's everyone doing ? I know I'm a bit worried , but thats a normal life. right ? its almost closure time anyone have any job prospects? sorry to ask , but I worry a bit to much
thanks for the bright light you posted on the shape of the business and what led to the decline and closure of the call center. They always said "business needs".
The no-talent RIs did not leave on their own, they were asked to leave.
Scarborough should have cleaned house 5 years ago put was stalled by old Nielsen management that did not know what they were doing.
Look at the posts on this site, every company that Nielsen purchased and tried to align to the “Nielsen way” has become a disaster.
Now that the “Nielsen way” culture has been exposed and all the outstanding loans and misuse of funds and every manager having an assistant and every assistant had an assistant is being brought to light, people can see what a s**t hole this company is and has been.
They are toxic and had toxic people making decisions. The problem is that all those bad decisions made 25 years ago, 20 years ago, 10 years ago are impacting the innocent employees. Calhoun, Habib, Houghton, Hieman, Anderson, we have you to thank for this mess.
Gracenotes, Arbitron, Scarborough were much better off without Nielsen.
I almost choked reading the latest post. was that an April fools joke? those who have any talent left that call center long ago. its the unwanted trash that is picking up the phone now placing calls and the has been tl's that are bring it to the curb.
My heart leaped with joy from your post. to be honored to do a complete for Scarborough has always been my goal when I have walked through those doors.
Knowing that the friendships that have been built over the years will be fading away brings tears to my eyes. Yes, no one place is perfect , but they tried to make adjustments for us along the way and thats why I stayed and thats why we will close this place with dignity and together .
Generalized hatred for Scarborough TLs is misplaced. When Anderson led the Call Centers she was so ignorant of the work that she allowed the GLs to run rampant and they allowed the TLs to play favorites. GL/TL affairs that led to not only offsprings but promotions. GLs who worked two jobs and treated Nielsen as a secondary job(talking to you Tampa GLs). HR turning a blind eye to all this because the so call Call Center Leader had so much internal power( sound familiar Davidson sisters).
But.
The reason you see the remaining Scarborough employees pulling together and closing down the telephone side of the business is due to The devoted long term employees who loved their jobs and were treated with respect and acknowledged that the Call Center employees were the core of the business. We loved Scarborough.
And to the POS egotistical selfish people who never respected Scarborough, here’s hoping you get what you deserve. Goes around-comes around.
Just heard about this board from one of the f/t getting the layoff notice. I’m glad to see this place close they tossed me out the door when we had to go to the office and work. TL’S thought they were gods running the place. Glad to see them
Going to the unemployment line . LMAO.what comes around goes around
I was hoping the severance package was going to be extended a bit more than what was offered me , but I'm ok with it now that I know they back dated my full time status to my hire date. I plan on doing some sight seeing when this is all over.
Going to work harder than I have in years my daughter has schooling to pay for and I want to see her graduate
When is that job fair?
everyone is upbeat even knowing they will be without jobs. this crew digs in when the going gets tough.
if anyone is interested they have a job fair soon for outbound and customer service representatives positions all remote. I hope to see some of my co workers on the conference call to listen about some new opportunities.
I know a few of you are holding out for a severance payment , but when they start hiring in September do you want to be in the cold ?
its a total closure of outbound calling . I worked there a few years ago with my boyfriend and have stayed in touch with some of the RI's. I know they are going to miss the place my one friend has been more than 10 years .
every dept will eventually lay off. who thinks they’re safe? who still has their head in the sand?
Scarborough is having layoffs? When?
Layoff usually means layoff and not retained or retrained.
