Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Hope for 3M

Maybe with the new CEO there is finally a bit of hope for 3M? However, he must “clean house” in order to be an effective leader. This will not be easy.

He must make sure our Ethics and Compliance team takes complaints seriously. If a manager does not follow our Code of Conduct he or she must be counseled (at a minimum) and even fired. Bad managers with HR and Ethics complaints should no longer be protected.

This includes complaints alleging workplace harassment, misogyny, racism and more.I have seen it all at 3M. Our new CEO should end our culture of “protecting our own” when it comes to ethics violations.

Senior managers who do not exhibit emotional intelligence or empathy should no longer be promoted and/or continue to be rewarded for toxic behavior.

I am only asking that 3M follow the rules it made and brags about. This did not happen under Roman but needs to happen under our new CEO. If not, the rot will continue and 3M will eventually cease to exist.

Usually it is because they want someone to come in to slash and burn. No history, no emotions, no baggage. Get paid $15M a year yo cut headcount more or to slice up businesses. That's the scary part. Like you said, who would come out of retirement to a company that already has such a bad reputation. Clearly someone who has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Actually new CEO already 61 near retirement age, what does he stand to gain to step out to take over the Titanic ship that's crashed? Is the board paying him more money than Mikey?

It looks like the new CEO will not change things. This is sad news for 3M. I am hoping I am wrong.

Changing the captain didn't change the fate of the Titanic's sinking, maybe worse

On the count down, number 8. worst CEO is Bill Brown

CEO approval rating: 30%
Company: Harris Corporation
Glassdoor company rating: 3.0 / 5.0
Tenure as CEO: 5 years

William Brown, who has been at the helm of aerospace and defense contractor Harris for nearly five years, is one of the least liked CEOs of any major company. Many employee reviews attribute the declining morale and a burgeoning culture of distrust to Brown, speculating that his chief concerns — the company’s profits and shareholders — often come at the expense of employees.

By that measure he has been successful so far. Now trading at over $90 a share, Harris stock has gained by well over 150% in value from the time Brown took over in November 2011. Brown has managed to increase the value of his company in the eyes of shareholders. However, many current and former Harris employees allege that Brown is cutting costs by getting rid of more experienced and more expensive engineers in favor of younger engineers with less experience.

Y’all understand that Mr Brown is on a list of most hated CEOs right? Use your googlefu for yourself.
The only thing changing is the name on the office door.

Ethics and Compliance team must take complaints seriously. Executives, VPs and HR are all about protecting the company. The approach and strategy in the investigations is to identify why said incident is not a liability to 3M. What can we say to make this issue go away? This behavior is sick and needs to stop.

Do not report anything to Ethics and Compliance, HR or your leadership. Call an attorney, report to government or give story to the media.

All HR in 3M from top to the very bottom needs to be replaced AND the replacements held accountable!
