Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

Anyone knows that they're not getting raises for sure?

I heard that some people have been notified about their raises. The increase is supposed to show up in April and not everyone will get it. I haven't gotten mine yet. Does anyone here know their teammates got raised but you didn't?

As always Flash BU and Legacy WD side is different. Since it is Flash upcycle most people from Flash are meant to get a raise. Flash BU has higher compensation compared to legacy WD anyway and it has been like that since 2016.

On the Flash BU side, people who are working on the next gen enterprise ssd, codenamed after a 90s Sci-Fi movie, have been notified about their raises. I heard all of them got it.

1lyx+1rvLhecv Word!

Telling increases are happening is for the ‘feel good’ value, but it doesn’t necessarily mean raises for everyone. The chatter is circulating that more 0% increases this cycle. Next month we’ll know, but hopefully you will receive your raise

: @1bxq+1rvLhecv yeah, right! Get back to work because you must be better in role than you are speculating about raises

As a matter of fact everyone under this Senior Director is getting a raise. Down to the most junior person

@1lkw+1rvLhecv so, they all received their raise, their manager told them, and then everyone discussed it? it’s a leap to believe everyone already knows unless you’re their manager :-)

Quite a few people will get no pay increase. This was part of the guidelines given for this round. There is no specific criteria so another who do you know non merit action.

@vqz+1rvLhecv, how did you find out? Your manager told you? Or you know that your teammates got theirs already but you didn't? You will not see it on your paycheck until April btw. If indeed you didn't get it, sorry to hear that.

w/o meaningful objective criteria and likely tops down scrutiny, we can look around and probably guess who is likely to get a raise, so don't be too surprised to learn the percentage of 0%s is higher than usual
