Thread regarding 3M layoffs

The atmosphere at work is at an all time low

Everybody knows this ship is sinking. There is zero confidence that management can fix the situation and turn it around. If you're not looking for a new job, you're in the minority.

I work in audit. Ey is running the show. The 3m director is simply responsible for conveying messages to them and receiving instructions and clearing it with Asraf. That is it!! That’s how all audit works since the last many months. It is one of the most toxic places to work in 3m. And until we ki-l the snake from the head it will continue and just get worsen. Mini kingdoms.

I work for Enterprise supply chain and morale is at rock bottom. None of those VPs or Directors seem to care. They are just enjoying their WYW.

I work in Legal and the morale is really, really bad. The best senior leaders and attorneys left. 😢

Got laid off at Corporate, the VPs, Directors and management are largely incompetent, resorting to outsourcing, micromanagement and a very toxic environment. Sad days for a once great company.

Things seem quiet in Plants lately. The APAC VP seem to be hiding in one corner

The distribution center I have been at for a very long time has been getting steadily worse for the past 10 years.
We are now being run by consultants because our plant manager is incompetent. There isn't anyone who cares about doing the right thing or treating anyone with respect (including our customers).
Everyone has either already quiet quit or is looking for an exit plan. This makes for a very toxic work environment.

I work in a plant and I am near to retirement age. I am fine to just quiet quit until the day I get my payout. The plant director is too busy to bother with me, he is busy managing his VPs and SVPs

This is sad news, but from my experience, please start looking for other opportunities outside. Do not waste your loyalty, you will not be shown any at all.

Low morale everywhere not only plants. Regional supply chain folks as well

Our plant is slow. Has been for a long time. Hiring only happens in production if someone retires. No new investment for years. Salaried staff are slowly being eliminated. Experiments and trials stopped years ago. Most have been waiting for the plug to be pulled on the plant for a few years now. RIDICULOUS policies are constantly being implemented now. It’s as if the safety group is stretching to justify their jobs. When the focus shifted from the customer and treating your employees with respect to worrying about how we can cut costs to make sure the next dividend increases, and executives make their bonuses, we died as a company.

If Peter Gibbons get denied the CEO job of remain-co, he needs to be hired by the HC spin. The new company needs his vision and bold leadership. His townhalls are must-see events.

Go Pete Go!
