Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

MIP payout - do you have to be working at MDT or just stay till end of FY?

I'm thinking about leaving MDT. The MIP (bonus) payouts are usually the latter half of July. End of FY is April 30 (ish).

Do I have to be working at MDT until the actual payout date (late July) to get the MIP payout, or do I just have to be there until after the end of the FY? Obviously I can just ask HR, but I'd rather not tip my hand that I'm thinking of leaving (yet).

No MIP this year as well; maybe 50% if lucky

My Q3 MIP update was 85-100% estimate. It really makes me wonder what it would take to exceed expectations around here... 3 years of misses in a row and based on targets for next year, I'd say 4 in a row. I can't believe cutting to bare bones and outsourcing isn't the way to beat our competitors...

I agree with what everyone else has said. If you stay until May 3rd, you’ll get 100% of whatever MIP they give us AND you’ll also keep your health/dental insurance through June 1st. Might not be a huge deal breaker considering the coverage is worse now but it gave me time for my new company’s insurance to kick in last month (especially for someone with underlying medical conditions).

Unless they change the policy, if you are employed by the end of the FY, you will get the payout. I left last year in May and received the payout in July.

MIP yes. SIP no. Trust me they will look under every stone on Earth to find a way to reduce the payout.

The policy states you have to be employed on the last day of the fiscal year.

Just until after FY ends in April. You'll get paid in July if they even pay anything.
