Thread regarding Ford layoffs

For God's sake don't use your own judgement

It would appear that the cyclical nature of Ford and it's ability to keep playing the same narrative in some kind of obscene sine wave is happening again.
It can be summarized as 1/ you are not doing enough for the company 2/ the beatings will continue until morale improves 3/ for god's sake don't use your own judgement.
Our company management group of clowns got us into this mess.
When they are gone, we have mr bunny shoes waiting in the wings for his shot.
Don't think it is isn't coming. It is inevitable.
Junior made Mulally leave a year early on his contract - Junior is a bigtime poser.
Just like the clowns he has hired. When he found out Mullaly was for real, he had him leave a year early.
He brought in Hackett for God's sake.
The biggest mo--n to ever run anything.
Starting to see a theme.
This is going to get worse.
The Cali skunk works project won't save us.
We have no new product in development that will sell.
Trucks and big suv's will not the cash cow for ever.
We are in for a perfect storm.
And they gave the kitchen sink to the union and are sc--wing salary.
Do they not understand that lower salary morale is bad?
I don't think so.
Scary but it is our lives, which makes me want to cry!

My guess is Hackett was hired to be a temporary measurement, it just so happened that it lasted a bit too long to be called temporary. Remember that it was either Farley or Hinrichs that would get the job?

@OP+1rq9G4Dx I actually think Mr. Ford's heart is in the right place but you are right about his judgement on hiring Hackett. Farley, well, he was just a standard corporate marketing guy trumpeting his accomps. They all do that. It's their thing. Hackett though... whew. "Tech visionary" ... unbelievable the board fell for that guy. You would think at least one guy would have seen thru all that word salad and said no no no no.... "clock speed" indeed... You couldnt even get hired as a low level engineer with Hackett's level of tech knowledge. Low level engineering is difficult! All 20/20 hindsight well I guess it's good we all arent in charge.

@OP. Confident and knwoledgeable managers and owners hire people better than themselves. Clueless managers are afraid to show their ignorance, so they hire people worse than themselves.

Bill was forced to hire AM after his mistakes almost bankrupted the company. He didn't like it because AM was the real deal. When the company went afloat again, he fired AM and hire all those buffoons that are more ignorant than him.

Stop that.
I saw you and so did everyone else.
You used your own judgement and as a result Ford is losing 40k per electric vehicle sold.
And it is your fault.
You used your own judgement.
And yes, I know you are a low level flunkie in ford Blue.
But it is your fault.
You will see it reflected in your merit and bonus.
Do we need to talk about the beatings?
Ie frequency and length or are we good?

All these upper management leeches DF are employed for the Government money that's it!!

The over paid upper management only cares about cashing in as they lecture from one of their lake front homes and don't give a damn about the employees or the company. The lower ranks LL5, LL6's and supervision are mostly waiting to retire or stay under the radar until retirement.

The ones at the top who made these terrible decision put Ford in the present predicament and the employee's pay for it. Billy and Jimmy along with the other under talented compared to Mulally is night and day.
