Are these layoffs only for marketing department? Any ideas about is we're having layoffs in R&D?

The media published the story that SAS gave them, which was that the layoff was in the SAS Retail Division.

Were the folks in Marketing working on Retail? or was this more general? and how many were laid off?

naming names here or even initials gets things deleted. so you'll just have to wait and see who drops out of the employee directory in 30 days.

“ most managers under JC should never been promoted.”

Not sure that’s unique to marketing.

As per SAS SOP, too many thinkers and not enough doers.

Marketing is a team of favorites. Good folks will get hit in order to protect them. Such a sorority mentality, most managers under JC should never been promoted.

I know quite a few marketing directors that have been around for a spell. Who? There are a few at the VP level that were pretty useless before they made VP. Wondering about them too.

how many people were let go? not nearly enough. some directors, including a few who had been at sas for 20-30 years. the departure of these people will not impact daily operations in any way. they should be glad they got paid so well for so long and just go away quietly. marketing doesn't need more directors. it needs less directors and more people who actually do work every day.

A few months ago there were 600+ people that rolled up to JC in the org chart. I feel for those let go but this needed to happen. SAS needs no where near that amount of people in Marketing.
