Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Exodus in March

I am expecting all the "I can WFH forever" folks to leave in March shortly after the CIP. Anyone seen it already or doing it yourself?

MKW loves it, no need for severance!

If and when Chevron plans any layoffs, be assured that most of the WFH folks and half the contractors will be the first batch of people on the list to be let go. For any of you WFH holdouts, you should start thinking if that is a good strategy to keep following. Sure, WHF is a comfortable way to work, but choosing to not get yourself into the office your entire 80 hours every two weeks is really putting yourself at high risk of having no job before long.

You kidding me? Have you seen the cafe and the parking lot. WFH holdouts are s slim minority and they're already paying the price with scrutiny, being talked about negatively at PDC's etc.

We will see the regular exodus in April and since interest rates haven't dropped, most of the holdouts wanting s bigger lump sum will wait yet another year and sc--w all of us on advancement opportunities

@1boi , you're 100% right on that. Those are all the folks that push back big on the RTO and act like they're getting a big benefit taken away or pretend like the work output & quality is the same. If the company needs 10 hr. or even 20hr/wk contract consultants, they are easy to find. If fact with today's gig economy those types are a dime a dozen. It would save the company a lot.

April 1 is the most popular date for those to retire who have stock options and enough points: You get your last stock package and will get this years bonus.

Some are retiring and were hoping there would ha e been a package offered but not happening. I am not sure why people would leave other than natural retirement age. There is not much petro tech opportunity with all consolidation, and the pay and benefits are still reasonably good compare to overall other industries.

Lots of people are actually semi retired now. They do 0-10 hours of work a week from home. They wont come in and will get Canned. I for one am fine as I show up and show out.
