Engineering Managers let go?

I notice some engineering managers and directors leaving as of late. Are they being laid off? Or just jumping ship?

Plenty of Directors and Managers with 0 reports or very few.

There is encouragement for managers with 5 or less reports to be let go by the C Suite.

Should let go the ridiculous number of Directors not directing. Can’t wait to see what PE does.

What annoys me is that it has ALWAYS been the front line that has been impacted. The managers just look good in front of their senior leaders and put forward their staff to save their jobs. We have managers that do Fudge-All and still have their job. This place has gone downhill big time. Move on and get another job....

Smart to move on. The AI product offering is laughable. To state the obvious AiDIN is a ridiculous name. What happened to Cloud?

I heard an Eng manager on the AiDIN team left without another job b/c he was tired of all the chaos on the team and within the company

I’m aware of one director so far. I’ve heard he was asked to leave, but it was third hand. Nothing lined up after from what I’ve heard, which would be risky in the current job market.

On what teams? I haven't seen anything going down in my area. Seems like business as usual. People are talking though.

Any hints? I’m surprised more people haven’t jumped. Isn’t it obvious what PE is going to do?
