How come there's so little talk about layoffs? I'm not optimistic enough to think we're in a post-layoff era, so what gives?

Free speech is a beautiful thing.
Why wait for layoffs to occur then post "I've been laid off". What's the point?
Why not understand the business. Share. Discuss. Predict. And most importantly disclose facts for full transparency. Can't treat an issue without a proper diagnosis.
