Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Do we need CTC subsurface ?

They think too much of themselves and continue to waste BU time and resources. Zero accountability for BU success and use us as a science experiment. Chevron is probably better off letting go half of them so they cause less trouble for the Business.

@1adc, isn't that what we do now? Please don't tell me CTC subsurface makes any difference - most of them couldn't find oil at a Walmart!

I guess we could just drill in random locations, cross our fingers and hope for the best. Then if we get lucky and find oil, just produce the well until it runs out and wonder what happened.

The truth of the matter is that CTC Ph.Ds are taken straight from college to CTC, and never get any real BU experience (or accountability). That's why they treat your problems as science experiments (it's what they did in school), and are never on time.

Yeah for an oil company getting rid of subsurface is the right decision, so that we can become an IT company.
