Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

What’s the minimum raise?

Myself and a few others I know got sub 1% raises. Less than inflation increase. Isn’t there a 2-3% minimum?

The old system gave much better raises to 2+ performance when above 100% CO.

Is 100% CO just the middle of the PSG range?

I would bet you don't understand our pay determination philosophy, and if you got such a negligible increase you are likely at the higher range of your PSG and probably still making more money than others in the same PSG that got larger raises trying to catch up to you. Enjoy

The pay determination tool pushes everyone to 100% Compa Ratio. If you’re above 100%, you have to get more “exceeds expectations” to get bigger raises. That’s because you’ve theoretically been “in grade” longer, so more is expected. A person below 100% and all “valuable contribution” ratings could get a bigger raise than a person above 100% with one or two “exceeds expectations.”

The minimum is 0%. This is reserved for those with much experience and performance record (more than just the past year) so we can give the money instead to those with no experience and no track record, so they won't quit or whine here.

Perhaps it's time to unionize.

Adding the cip and comparing it to the last, this is the first year my net compensation has dipped into the negatives, an actual demotion.

Salt on the wounds this was also the first year in the new performance model where I've hit exceeds on all marks. Exceeds across the board yet a net pay decline. Nice!

5% this year is a good raise. You are probably not above 100%.
I had 3 exceeds and only got a 3.3%; I know my CO is already in the 103, so there is not much room to grow there.

So, what’s a “good” raise - given the constraints of the system? Last year I had a 15% raise (although it was largely luck as I just happened to be in position to lead efforts resolving a HUGE high visibility issue). This year was 5%.

The minimum is 0%.
The algorithing will propose a range to your supervisor and that range is based on 1) your performance rating and 2) how for from 100% CO you are. The higher your CO, the lower the proposed increase range.
If you are in a less than 100 CO and got a 1% raise, it is all related to less than expected performance (or at least the perception your supervisor has)

My manager said they don’t give exceeds. Got two expects more. Was told I need to build relationships and align/inspire better. Already spend more time in the field than any person on my team and post info in teams/emails. Etc.
