PSG change process

how long does it take to move to the next PSG ? Is it true that if you hit the median salary range for a given PSG, there's really not much of an increment unless you move to a higher PSG?

Each year there will be guidance on the percentage of people who can be promoted. Last year in my part of the organization it was 15%. I have heard it’s usually 10-20%. That means the average time to promote is around every six years. It can be more frequent in functions that do more placed roles (promoted into a job), however, as the guidance only applies to career ladder positions.

i don't understand, why is the median salary the 100% , shouldn't the upper limit be the 100%?

""Your" correct, when "your" at 100% you just get “structure”"

If you think you will get promoted every 3 years through PSG26-27, you are either related to executive management or someone has been blowing smoke up your a**. For the good hardworking non related, non Hi Pot, promotion one in 5 years up to PSG 24 beyond that good luck

If you perform well you should be promoted every three years through PSG26-27.

Promotion is justified based on time in grade, consistent performance, and meeting 80% of the next functional level’s job duties/expectations.

Your correct, when your at 100% you just get “structure” which was at around 2% this go around. For you to get paid more then that your supervisor would have to take away money from the rest of the team to reward you.

As for moving PSGs, depends on your team and org and percentage of promos available.
