I was laid off in December 2019, we were given 3 months to train our offshore replacements. My severance benefits lasted until October 2020. I was 62 by that time and was qualified for full pension after working for the company for 20 years. I took a lumpsum distribution and was able to qualify for Texas state unemployment benefits. I am not sure if you could qualify if you took annuity option. I was happily living my retirement life but somehow got a good job offer because I was required to send out at least 3 resumes a week to continue to get the unemployment checks. I got an interview and offered a position from one of the resumes I sent out randomly. I got to work on something I truly enjoyed until I retire again at age 65. You never know what lies ahead after being laid off. Life is full of surprises.

I was impacted by the last round of layoffs. I was able to draw unemployment when severance ended for a couple months. It varies by state.

I was 61 also. You can collect social security, if you’d like at 62. Now living happy and free.

I have been impacted in the recent Pepsico reorg. I am 61 years old and eligible for a pension. PepsiCo laid me off as an early retiree. However, I am uncertain about my eligibility to claim unemployment benefits once my severance package is completed. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone has information regarding the eligibility criteria for unemployment benefits in my situation. Thank you.

I thought FLHQ would be packed today because of the eclipse. There are tens of people here, and everyone is on edge because there is no official word that they're done with people being asked to leave.

Once the company determines how many accepted early retirement, they’ll decide how many more employees need to be cut. That could take a few weeks. Those on the chopping block have already been identified by supervisors.

A 60 hour work week where you accomplish 25 hours of progress because of all of the inefficiencies.
