I almost always had great bosses...until the last 5 years. Some of the worst I've ever seen. They can't interact with others and only focus on those above them. Then they get promoted. It just isn't the same company anymore.
I can’t, my manager loves me!!! I’m about to have a pizza party and free beer on company dime😎
My own observation from way back was that the quad office environment (business side, sales, marketing, accounting, customer service, etc) was political, back stabbing, b u t t k i s s i n g, dress up contest. Technical side (labs, pilot facilities, maintenance, engineering) was less political and more job focused. Production facilities were slave drivers.
Good for those that don't have horrible bosses here at 3M. The last three bosses (not a leader among them) I have had with this company was each one worse than the one before...and all of them were promoted!
It is clear from where I am at that there is not a leader in this entire company.
I had what previous poster does - I hope it lasts, but I have experienced that anything good gets pulled down if it works well. The areas not working well seem to get attention and negatively impact other areas, which was the cycle for like five years. I thought avoiding cuts and maintaining teams and awesome boss would mean maintaining our team culture and dynamics. Reorgs to displace other cuts caught up and good people left for other opportunities. I hope it lasts for you as long as possible though
I'm enjoying a salary that's on the high end for what I do, and I get to work from home.
I like the work I do and my coworkers. My boss is a nice guy.
I know not everyone is in my shoes, but I seriously don't that the majority of people at 3M have horrible, toxic, abusive bosses.
