Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

This is torture!

Anyone else feel like they live in a real life episode of some sc--wed up reality tv show? Just waiting and wanting it to be over with..this uncertainty is cruel, slow , and painful torture…

I left Nielsen at the beginning of March. I found myself a job working for the state, and there is next to no pressure in this job. We work through what we can work through, and as long as we get our tasks done by the deadline, nobody cares how much I'm away from my desk. I get to take time during my workday to study other parts of the agency we work for, and as long as my own work gets done, I can tag along when someone goes out on site. I go into the office at 7:00, I hyperfocus on any work I need to do that day. I go hard so I can get it done in 2 hours, and then I just stay stationed at my desk for the rest of the day in case my phone rings. I have so much time to catch up on my podcasts. I feel like I am on vacation 40 hrs per week. And, I am getting paid the same. Do yourself a favor and get out of Nielsen. It's only going to su-k more and more every day.

What is happening at Nielsen is painful to the employees that have been let go and to the employees that remain but know that eventually they will receive a meeting invite from HR.

Yes! Welcome to the corporate version of Squid games!!
We are all looking! It's not easy out there now! Totally exhausted and defeated from applying and get the "unfortunately...." email in a couple of weeks from them. Mostly it's just being ghosted by recruiters though!!!

I’m over it too. Can’t stand my coworkers or this job. I’m checked out and focusing on me. I’m already looking for a new job. If I can find one before my time here sc--w the pitiful severance. I’m leaving haha

Been feeling great throughout all of this. Refuse to let Nielsen steal any of my happiness, and realize all of this is due to decades of pi-s poor decision making and management - and nothing to do with me or my efforts.

The next step is coming soon, with Nielsen being left in the rear view mirror to deal with all of its bad decisions, with these layoffs and offshoring of roles being just another example of a company barely holding on.

Good riddance once my time runs out, and thank you for the parting gift. 👋

it is torture

people seriously need to start job hunting to leave

bonuses and raises will continue to sh-t if they even happen

unless you are here a long long time the severance isn’t worth waiting for, while you get abused. the job market is difficult, don’t wait to start looking and trying.

this will not get better. you will always be on a tightrope. get out.
