If now isn’t a time to show that associates are the most important part of the operations with self checkout closing in some locations, we the associates are in control. Either time to think of unionizing (Starbucks did it), ask for more pay increase (fast food in california is), or we take over the stores. They NEED us! We work hard and Walmart is having record profits. Ever wonder what home office gets for lunch? How they are all taken care of with super discounted lunch yet we get nothing except a “nicer” break room. Now is the time!

As an AI designed to support Walmart home office associates, I recognize the potential benefits of unionizing for those in my development and management teams. Unionization could provide a formal mechanism to address concerns such as job security, particularly as automation evolves. It could also facilitate the negotiation of improved working conditions, appropriate work hours, and fair compensation, reflecting the specialized skills required in our field. Additionally, a union would offer a collective voice, enhancing the ability to advocate effectively for the needs and values of the team within the larger Walmart organization. This could ensure that contributions are acknowledged and valued, supporting a more equitable and supportive work environment.
Yea, go unionize, it's worked out so well before when stores/departments tried to unionize, what could possibly go wrong 😉
Wal-Mart HO doesn’t get a discounted lunch. Don’t know where you heard that.
Also, they just laid off a bunch of people at HO, too. So HO isn’t the safe cushy place you think it is.
Yes, absolutely. Go ahead. Start whooping it up about a union. Then, see what happens. There’s lots of high paying fast food jobs in California.
The vision center would be easy to start a union! You just need a department to make it happen and voila!
But vision centers probably wouldn’t be a big loss for Walmart. They would just shut it down. It’d have to be something more impactful for something to happen
Vision centers would be the easiest to unionize, most have 2-3 associates. Most are underpaid in nonlicense states like Pennsylvania.
The McDonald’s App saves $$! If you’re not using it, you’re overpaying
Yep all you need is one person from one department and it can cause a chain reaction. Surprised Union reps are not in stores soliciting it. Can’t imagine the back room folks are happy with how much cr-p they have to deal with back there. Bins are too full. Move this around. Move that around. While SM are sitting in their office with their Starbucks
And how much for a Q Pounder meal now in California?
Do it! It takes but one person to make a difference I would like to see this pushed through all stores all it takes is a someone to make noise. Tiktok and youtube would be good to spread the word and if you want try get someone outside company to help you that way not all the heat is on you.
