They offered RD vp position to run Midland assets. He will be shiny thing to lure PXD employees to accept offers, so that they think big papa will take care of them. Reality is RD will be given incentive bonus to keep the ball rolling for 2 years and after the receive his pay out. Remember this, and remember it well. Nobody will take care of you, I mean NOBODY. All those vp's care only about themselves. Don't drink the koolaid. Think objectively and when you get an offer ask what will take you ahead in your new career. Don't settle for shyt. Unless you have been doing shyt work so far in the company. Then you deserve what awaits you for unfairly putting burden on your coworkers.

Just stating facts, the two companies really aren't that different. Sounds like you've been on the pxd t-t-y for a long time, hope you're ready for the "real world" too bubba.
PXD had a bloated workforce for a decade. Remember when we used to be worldwide. We kept the majority of those employees even though we widdled down to one Basin. You don’t need 3,000 people in one Basin. Quit crying. You won’t survive long in the real world.

True, the VP’s may go or may not go but you are on your own from now on. Pioneer took good care of their employees. XOM is different (no matter how hard they try to say that XOM and PXD is the same) and a greedy monster at that. Taking the offer or not is personal choice but remember that they give a sh--e about employees.
You will see “buddies” from Xom as well. The guys who let me call you on the down low. Set up March madness brackets and other buddy things. Don’t buy it.
