Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Production implodes

Not a drupa because they have nothing to show.
Ancient iGen
Baldtoro has nothing new to show
Baldtoro follow-on products cancelled
CF inkjet (impika) is long gone
An pointless (unannounced) partnership with Screen
Fuji selling newer versions products through other channels
Yes, its over for production machines at Xerox.

Shutting down iGen and Nuvera
Shopping the lone Baldtoro press. If they cant find a buyer theyll shut it down, too.
After painful years of gross mismanagement bu UB, JJ, JV and the Icahn crew, its finally come to an end.

All that remains of xerox production is the shrinking customer “install base”
Xerox would like to sell off those products and customer contracts.
That customer base sees their service levels falling. They see that xerox doesnt have follow-on products.
Potential OEM buyers see that they may not have to buy the contracts because it gets easier to flip every day.

I am looking at and have a proposal from Xerox on a Iridesse.
Based on how clueless my rep is, I will be looking at the Sharp version.

Consider: If you are a current xerox production customer looking for an additional or a replacement production press, would you consider buying from xerox today?
Of course not. So the business will continue to shrink and the layoffs will continue.

Xerox is no longer a manufacturer. Xerox is a dealer. Dealers don't sell much heavy iron production.

Production products were the jewel in Xerox's crown a few years ago.

What do we have now that can compete in the Production space?
