AMN Healthcare at it again - 4/3/24 Layoffs

Well here we are again!
Ever since Susan departed for retirement leaving Cary Grace as the President & CEO things have taken a very bleak turn.

Today Dallas office employees may have noticed an increase of security to the building this morning as AMN has their leaders meeting to layoff over 30% of their workforce.

This is not specific to 1 department over the other this time. Rumor is that at least 5 supervisor or above roles will also be letgo today.

AMN recently announced their postponement of transition primarily to offshore for 4/1 to 6/1 for credentialing process with Radiant as they weren't quite ready for the over taking of what we do. As we all know these transitions come with some serious collateral damage.

All those laid off will receive an email to their personal email box with a DocuSign to complete. They will also be contacted by a HR representative with their specific severance package information in the next coming days.

When AMN announced their inclusivity & DEI initiatives & how important OneAMN is now more than ever was the eye opener for many people.

Terin (credentialing director) was in a meeting recently scolding the entire department telling them "You don't need to be in the know for all the changes. Nor is it your right to be." As she boasts about transparency & honesty. Then she tells everyone to stay in their lane when people were fearful for their jobs & how it'll impact their livelihoods.

What was once a great company is no longer. They are hanging on by a thread.

This company definitely took a turn over the last year I've been here over 5 years and recently I've never felt such a weird energy. I understand the reset in the market but it was so many unrealistic expectations that put extreme stress on us leaders. Unfortunately I was part of this massive group that was let go today. For the company to constantly boast how it values transparency, today's events showcase the exact opposite. I understand this is a business but figure out a way to not make the people impacted feel like they are trash being thrown out on the street.

Severance packages right now are weak!!!

2 weeks paid.
Benefits end Friday 4/5.
EAP extended till the end of the month.
Displacement assistance.
FAQs.

What kind of joke is this? They are telling the staff that remain that they're taking care of all those who've lost their job & providing all this support.
Then telling the remaining not to listen to the "rumors" & by rumors they mean anything that those who have been let go have been honest about. Like we're the liars.

This is the most unprofessional and dishonest company I have ever worked for. Can’t say enough about the downward spiral since Cary Grace took the reins. Turnover of all her leadership team except one. Brought in her team with no in depth industry experience. Took way too long to adapt to market changes and rules by misinformation intellectual inferiority and utter lies. Hope Wall Street is watching what a mess she has made and until she is booted out and the company recalibrates, any intelligent and professional person needs to run away quick, fast and in a hurry away from this disaster of a company.

Does anyone know if the severance packages are negotiable? Seems like we should be getting a lot more. Is there annything illegal they are doing here that would be worth getting a lawyer involved? I know a lot of people on sales received demotions after years of no demotions being given. That doesn’t seem right. I’ve never known anyone to receive less pay each year they work at a company. Usually it’s the other way around…

Let’s not leave out the part where we were all told we were “training” a team to help assist our work load. Come to find out, we were training those who later would be given our jobs. For reference, I loved the people I trained. They were great and I’m happy for them. Outsourcing is not new, BUT there is a professional and HONEST way to go about it. THIS was far from that.

Distasteful and unprofessional to say the least. Gaslighting at its finest. Hundreds of wonderful and LOYAL employees lost their jobs. 10/10 would not recommend working under Cary Grace

As a former recruiter here I can say the place is an absolute nightmare. Cary Grace is more akin to president Coin from the hunger games then any good leader. The company is savage right now pressuring everyone to the point of breaking while also providing cr-p pay and almost no resources. They’re ruining the industry with their telemarketing ways and are putting a BAD name on recruiters industry wide. Greed ends all and they are no stranger to it. Working at amn is an absolute recruiter nightmare.

Agree completely. OneAMN when it’s convenient for PR meetings. Susan led in an incredible way with incredible trust of those working for her. Me and others have received offers after the return to office demand. All of us receiving $20k+ base raises in identical roles. Incredibly hurt by learning how underpaid we were in credentialling. And gaslit to think we are getting the cream of the crop. Feels like leaving a toxic relationship. Wishing everyone the best.
