Just searched “scrum” on the job board. Says a lot that they fired dozens of folks in that job and then posted openings on April 1st. Probably more about getting rid of dead weight than only reducing head count in the role itself.

They have hired new people into the roles already in my unit. Pretty messed up. Some let go were very good. Are they really trying to save by that thin of margins, to get newer people with lesser salaries in? That can’t be it since Fidelity doesn’t come anywhere close to keeping up with inflation and new folks make as much as the tenured ones training them, if not more.
Sometimes companies play games after layoffs posting similar jobs to what they just let go even though they have no intention of hiring for those positions.
Interesting to see has the job description changed? e.g., scrum master --> project mgmt ?
