You know, there is already a company with the same name selling shoes, I guess they didn't trademark their brand? The news of start to selling shoes makes me wonder if this is a think-out-of-the-box to come up the targeted profit margin. Or is that what they call AI internally?

San Antonio Shoemakers (SAS) is a family-owned shoe manufacturer based in Texas since 1976 (they actually started a factory since 1975). They make high-quality shoes either in the US or Italy or both. Their shoes are not cheap. They specialize in handcrafted men's and women's shoes with a small line for children and handbags. Their shoes are very comfortable. SAS Shoes also specializes in footwear for people with foot issues like plantar fasciitis, arthritis, and diabetes. You're lucky if you can afford to own a pair.
I can only hope SAS Software will last as long as SAS Shoes.
Carried in 100+ SAS stores and in retailers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Korea, Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Panama, Chile, Israel and England —the San Antonio Shoemakers brand is a humble American success story, and continues to be a family-owned enterprise driven by an obsession with fit and quality.
Its another example of off-task behavior.
How many of you remember SAS’ disastrous (can’t spell it without “SAS”) attempt at updating the original logo? They squared it off and used negative space to depict the “A” in the middle. The result was WAAAY too reminiscent of the old SS logo used by the N*zis. As I recall, it didn’t last even one Scaramucci. I still recall seeing it for the first time and my instant “Dear God, no” reaction. Those who don’t remember history are doomed to repeat it, sometimes via snappy new branding.
@vns+1rQMEdZs I feel for those layed off. But why conflate that with a simple April fools. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.
"SAS is also...an elite British military force similar to Navy SEALs."
If you google-search "SAS video games" all the results will be games involving the British Army's Special Air Service. There are quite a lot of them. Therefore if BH's video game initiative gets off the ground, SAS will need to spin off a separate company with a different name because "SAS Video Games" is not going to fly marketing-wise. You don't want to get on the wrong side of the Special Air Service!
That story is not apocryphal. It is 100% true.
I think not apocryphal; I heard the same story.
Lighten up Francis.
"SAS is also a Scandinavian airline"
Long ago I heard tell that one of the founders as much as came out and admitted that in the early days of SAS, they literally stole the logo from the Scandinavian Air Service, not expecting anyone in the United States to recognize it, and that they later had to scrub all traces of it from SAS materials. I'm sure that story is apocryphal.
April Fools or not, there is a SAS shoe company. It was founded in 1976 in San Antonio, Texas.
The folks being laid off really appreciate these "fun" efforts. They especially enjoy it when they receive notice after one of these cute little internal productions airs. Their hearts swell with joy in remembrance of all the hard work they invested as they watch other people's children play. Wistfully thinking back they wonder, where did it all go wrong?
@vlm+1rQMEdZs Probably 30 minutes. Lighten up.
Or go start your own company where you can ban fun.
SAS is also a Scandinavian airline and an elite British military force similar to Navy SEALs.
Who comes up with this stuff?
What level of production was put into it?
How much time and how many resources were wasted on this effort?
It was a joke for April Fools day. Duhhhh
