Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

If any more proof was needed that Medtronic is doomed...

  • GI unit President Giovanni Di Napoli gone
  • EVP & President of Medical Surgical Bob White gone
  • EVP & Chief Human Resources Officer Carol Surface gone
  • Aortic President Carolyn Sleeth gone
  • Cardiovascular Diagnostics & Services President Julie Brewer gone
  • Spine & Biologics VP & GM Carlton Weatherby gone
  • Respiratory Interventions President Ariel Mactavish gone

Even the execs see MDT circling the drain, and no end to the failed Martha era in sight.

I get that the rest of us peasants don't understand Geoff's apparent genius, but what about these high-level executives? Are they not seeing it either? Doesn't that tell you something?

Stock price is actually lower now than at the bottom of the COVID crash in 2020. More appropriate to say, Creating value for….absolutely no one. And GM is still around????

They should rewrite the mission to reflect their actual values: "Creating value for shareholders at the expense of everyone else since 2020."

When Medtronic decided to outsource manufacturing and Research and Development overseas to save a buck, that's when you know Medtronic doesn't care about the mission.

It is certainly not the company it once was. Going by the old headquarter at MDT Parkway tells the story…parking ramp no longer a full parking lot…even the building not as kept up. Long for the days of old when working for Medtronic ensured a bright future.

When Geoff announced the new innovation center in India, that was the nailed in Medtronic's coffin.

I think Murtha is on borrowed time. Actually GE under Welch was a tight ship. I worked there. The other Medtronic execs see feeble bonuses and have thousands of worthless stock options. So they leave. Me too. At 66 with a nice package. Coming in from Covidien, I could easily see that Medtronic was fat, d-mb and happy. I hate to break the news that Minneapolis is not the center of the universe. The culture is very adverse to accountability and real excellence. The culture is to keep your head down, learn the jargon and spout your agreement at all possible opportunities.

@1vdw+1rOGN350 Can't have your cake and eat it too buddy. Who hired all these people? Do the people who hired them have any accountability? If they were such freeloaders, why were they kept around for so long?

Coz they were all freeloaders with no tangible achievements to show. What did they really do in their groups other than collect free money?
