Thread regarding 3M layoffs

3M's Best Mentor!

3M's Notice of Annual Meeting & Proxy Statement has been released, and we learn on page 90 that our beloved Tireman received a 3 (Exceeds Expectations) rating last year to boost his AIP payout to 120% of target, netting him a cool $1.04M check.

We learn on page 97 in his performance highlights (EPR) he, " Actively coached and mentored across 3M leadership, including executive sponsorship of the 3M Pride enterprise resource network."

My question is this, who can speak to Mr. Tireman's exceptional mentorship for which he was rewarded with a 3 performance rating?

Did not a 3M plant employee die last year…under his leadership? Wasn’t he in charge of manufacturing? If so, seems a little pathetic that he could be given any kind of stellar performance review, much less a payout of 120%. I am not saying that he had a direct impact on the death- I do not know this, but the mere fact that someone died under his responsibility to me does not warrant any kind of “above expectations” or above 100% payout…..

the leadership could have automated more of the process to eliminate the EHS risks, but they did not. instead they come out with stupid programs or slogans like hand rails, hand cut safety, and seriously they expect those to help? Tireman, you are toast.

Not sure about the safety improvements. Sadly, I think there are a couple families who would argue some cut corners regarding safety, have impacted their lives forever.

For those complaining about Pete and Kearney, his son had a firewall installed so that he could not directly work on any projects for 3M nor personally benefit.

Kearney has saved 3M at least a few billion with supply chain and safety improvements.

Go Pete Go!

How is it possible for Flim Flam to still be at 3M let alone make the money he makes? Our really good leaders have left because of the toxicity of 3M (at least in my division) and horrible leaders whose bad decisions cost 3M tons of money (like Flim Flam) become super rich.

How did Flim Flam make more than all our business leaders?

3M needs to raise their expectations. Peter has been detrimental to our enterprise in general.his safety initiatives are BS and not effective, essentially he has blamed the employees for abhorrent leadership decisions that have cost lives. Keep s-xuality out of the work place, thank you!
