UPS have been laying off pt supervisor in the Dallas Texas area. I still see a lot of over 60 years old management employees working. Why not offer some of them a buyout, I am sure they would love to have a buyout offer. Keep your younger employees. UPS always does stuff backwards anyway

They keep the older employees because they are already well vested in retirement funds. They fire the younger employees so they don't bank any more retirement. Plus younger employees have more kids and family on insurance, while older employees have kids out of the house and off insurance.
UPS does not care about their older management employees. UPS is really trying to force them into retirement by moving them to buildings 35 to 50 miles from their homes, having them work all kinds of different hours without any warnings. They are penalizing older management pension payments by decreasing their monthly payments if they continue to stay.
Investors like to see the trimming of the fat like lay offs as it grows their dividends. Buyouts cost money. The little worker means nothing. So yes, "backwards" would be a good word for it. Lives and people should come first.
