Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

EAC

Does anyone else feel misled about the Employee Advisory Council and its purpose? Rick keeps repeating they want to give context for decisions made by the EC... our initial impression was that EAC would have some sort of input on decisions.

Also hilarious that Rick brings up how the HWF approach is staying in place in the very first EAC video without even a discussion on it

"clown halls", I like that, I'm gonna steal that one. Hit the nail right on the head.

Anyone who thought the EAC would be anything other than handpicked sycophants is delusional. The only purpose of the EAC, the “mentoring” program and an empty stock option is to portray the illusion of caring. Nothing more, nothing less.

We see hand picking in Russian elections too.

Biggest issue I have with the EAC is that every member is a Director, Sr. Manager, or Manager that was hand selected for it.

When they first announced it, I thought we would have the opportunity to apply, and that it would feature "normal" employees (Core Reps, Active Trader Reps, FCPs, SPCS Reps, etc.)

Once they announced who was included in the EAC, I just laughed, as only having Directors, Sr. Managers, and Managers seemed to defeat the purpose of listening to employees.

Schwab has three stages of buy in

  1. Make staff think it was their idea
  1. Make staff think everyone else is onboard and supportive so detractors fall in line
  1. Tell staff that’s the way it is without using the words

Anyone who thinks they have input, influence or participation, including with the endless surveys and clown halls, hasn’t been paying attention.
