Cisco is very different than the rest. We spend considerable time brainwashing folks that they work at a great company, then we turn around and stab them in the back with a LR, even when profits are good.

Various acolytes of Neutron Jack, including Cisco's own cult leader John Chambers, have followed Jack Welch's leadership in layoffs and yank-and-rank at various points for the past 40 years. There are many.

At Cisco it is about making more profit, it is not about people!!

Economics 101 should have taught you that the correlation between productivity and salary was abandoned for infinite growth starting around 1981. We can't even make the most basic medicines or operate our own ports because the profit margin isn't high enough for Americans to bother. Even when complete consolidation allows one company to own a market they won't produce a quality product, such as the tainted baby formula that left the US begging on the international market.

"Made in America" is mostly made by Mexican immigrants :P

It reminds me of my favorite Lee Iacocca quote: "It doesn't matter where it's made, it matters where it's sold."

It's not just every large corporation but most people as well.

I was watching a YouTube video with Mike Row the other day. He was trying to get a jeans company to make a "made in America" line, which as it turns out they already tried and had failed. It turned out not only will no one buy American for an extra $2, or $1, or 50 cents, but you don't see a real uptick in Americans willing to buy American until the price difference is a single penny and even then it's no where near a landslide.

It's all complete BS. Everyone is a number, ready to be purged the moment the numbers look down. Anyone who thinks different is a fool. If the number are down end of Q3 there'll be another purge, and another.

I'd disagree all large institutions utilize propaganda to improve their brand. Apple has su----e nets outside their factories while promoting an inclusive environment. Amazon bought the Linkedin top company to work for award.

At least most companies just get on with it. The problem with Cisco is they claim to be the number 1 employer globally, their execs go on tour promoting digital inclusion, how important mental health is etc etc. Yet you are right when it comes to it they are just like all the others, but they haven’t got the guts to say it.
