@1jgd+1rFyeQUv China is a communist country, negotiating in bad faith, trying to dominate the world, and cheating whenever they can. Most Chinese companies are supported by the government and/or the companies do what they are told to do. Like buying shares of another Chinese company that is going doing poorly. At the same time, the "company books" are "cleaned" by pushing the debt to a company that is not public, all while the yuan stays artificially low. So, no, I would not stop what you call "bad mouthing" China, but it is nothing more than the truth.

The moment a company receives a preferencial treatment over others in the same field, is no longer a fair game, nor a free market. When China has a real free market, with more openness in their financials, then we can make business with them.

I blame both R and D for strengthening a very dangerous adversary, while weakening our country.

You all need to stop bad mouthing China.

President Trump and his family utilize Chinese manufacturing for many of their endeavors.

This is how capitalism works. Business owners find ways to save money. And Chinese labor is far less expensive than American labor. All the big business owners do it.

US Steel just old to China. All of Trump's properties use Chiense steel.

This is how it works.

If you don't like it, you need to consider working for lower wages.

Because adding tariffs will not lower prices. In fact, it will eliminate competition. You have to work harder for less money if you want to compete with foreign labor.

The funniest part of the unstable vehicle production work in the US is that the union supports the current administration which is clearly at work to push work to China based companies. Not sure how UAW membership sees electric vehicles as positive….

Every word you said was true. But the people on this site get angry when you use reality against them.

I heard that one of the suppliers used corn as a by-product in their part, thereby attracting mice/rats which is causing problems with the vehicles.

Ok Boomer. When a loat a bread was 75 cents, gas was 80 cents a gallon, and home owners insurance was $100/year. Yeah you can compare that to today. 🤣

Ford has been more profitable than ever. Just look at how much profit all of the mega corporations have made since quarantine.

Ford isn't going anywhere. Those cars will sell. Sales fluctuate all the time. Nothing to see here.

The problem is that most Americans are terrible with money and complain that life is too unaffordable these days. I bought a house in the early 80s at a much higher interest rate and was able to pay for it and a stay at home wife and four kids. People today are just lazy or expect things to be handed to them.

Josh Halliburton seems to have left the Our Executives list, we are down to “only” 88.

@gxg, that is incorrect. That is not how accounting works. If they are complete vehicles, they are listed under inventory at cost (or NRV if lower). Those which are sitting because they are waiting for a part are will be WIP inventory, which is also likely at cost.

The downside for Ford is that sitting inventory is tying up cash and they also run the risk of the value of those vehicles going down as it gets closer to the new model year. It’s possible their value will fall below their cost to build.

They should be sold as "used" vehicles, sitting in the open, not running, rats and mice getting into them chewing up the wiring, probably missing parts from the factory that will never be installed due to Ford's general incompetence. All it will do is alienate more people and reinforce Ford's image as unreliable junk vehicles.

This is a good thing - we will have far more top quality available for customers to buy when we move into springtime and the buying sprees that come with the season change!

Ford is playing a dangerous game. These units count as "sold", but they aren't delivered to the dealers/customers.
