Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

2024 Layoffs

It’s official. More layoffs this summer. If everything goes right it’ll be mid-June/July. Apparently there are a few groups/areas that are off the table for this round. Stay tuned and I’ll try to keep you updated.

I didn’t get 5% but I got a relatively good raise last year about a month before I was laid off.

They gave us 5% raises?

I don't think layoffs are imminent given they just gave us all 5% base salary raises.

From what I’ve heard, Midstream Ops and international (aside from Canada) are safe for this round.
Don’t worry, I’m sure it’s only a temporary pause.

The CEO made a speech in New Orleans in the last day or 2. In this speech he addressed change or what he calls “regeneration” in business.
He says we should embrace “ regeneration and be glad we’re part of it rather that thinking something is being done to us.
I took it to mean regeneration is another word for layoffs. I say it’s easy for him to say that and call bs.

One thing is certain, no member of the ELT or friends or family of the ELT will be laid off.

Which departments?

They won’t offer packages or allow expressions of interest be cause that would be the decent thing to do. They’d rather try to keep an employee that wants to leave and layoff an employee that wants to stay.

Why not offer severance packages to employees near retirement. Instead of eliminating jobs? How much really would it cost P66, we had Garland collecting 40 million the past 2 years doing what?

The reverse psychology is heavy. Influence the homosapien assets of your corporation by threatening layoffs, hiring interns, and fictitious unicorn 1 ratings with golden handcuffs. Classic corporate merica

“ So, because the original poster doesn’t give enough detail to help identify themselves or how they came across this information, they must just be an i”

All that typing just to say wahhhhhhh

Koolaid man gets it. Eliminate the work. And the people that go with it.

You mean they’re lying to us?!?!

I for one believed the CTO’s email stating that BCG is looking to eliminate work.

So, because the original poster doesn’t give enough detail to help identify themselves or how they came across this information, they must just be an internet troll? Well, here’s news for you Boomer: those of us that are non-geriatric realize that TheLayoff isn’t a place where trolls secretly lurk, just trying to scare people. And since there are 10,000 different company sites, statistically, it’s not likely for ours to be chosen (even if you do limit it to the F100 companies) multiple times. Something is going on.

Now. After satiating that bit of poorly thought- out stupidity….
Surely you people don’t think that the only ones getting laid off are people who will get a great severance? 3 weeks per year of service is great if you’ve been here for a half a century, but there are 2 and 3 year employees getting pushed out the door. Suddenly that severance doesn’t seem so sweet, does it?

The fear mongering is the so called “facts” a random statement about a layoff in the summer with no other context or info doesnt help anyone. Just leaves certain people in fear. Its d-mb this site is d-mb

What’s fear mongering to 1person is simply stating facts to another. It all depends on your perspective. I believe the posters on this board are stating facts based on their experiences.

Finally a reasonable person. Fear mongering on an anonymous board is useless.

Yeah, stop the fear mongering and look on the bright side. Last time they paid out 3 weeks severance per year of service. I'd walk out doing a merry little jig if I got laid off. Hundred odd grand check and don't have to deal with the dysfunction anymore? I'd take that deal all day. I can find new work.

You don’t bring in BCG for nothing, and you don’t announce a re-org in Midstream without impacts, and 3B is coming at us like a freight train. There is so much going on behind the scenes, just wait.
