I'm more than open to taking on more tasks, especially considering my current situation. I can't risk losing my job due to medical reasons, so I'm not thrilled but willing to put in extra effort. However, it becomes frustrating when I'm given responsibilities outside of my expertise without proper training or guidance. This added pressure has been weighing heavily on me lately. I'm doing my best, but I'm worried about making mistakes that could jeopardize my job security. It's an overall messed up situation.

Schwab is setting you up to fail. They will later force you to resign by claiming you are out of compliance and will put it on your license if you don't resign. They like that you were not trained properly. Easier to get rid of you later.

Wanted to chime in about the abuse. It is definitely real on some teams…
My PL would drop some sort of manipulation game or bombshell at the very end of our 1:1’s and get me spun up with no time to discuss what he brought up. It constantly stressed me out and demoralized me and when I started to buckle under the constant as--ults, he used THAT to throw me under the bus with senior leadership as a layoff target.
The end result? I was laid off. Honestly it was a relief for me and I’m much happier now. Good riddance to him and Schwab.
As for him, he got his own bit of karma a few months ago himself. What a freaking narcissistic clown.
Get out! RUN do not walk.
Not all management teams are bad, some are geuinely good people that protect their teams. The trick is to get moved to those teams and never leave!
The abuse at Schwab is real.
My PL used to abuse me weekly. It was horrendous. I hated Sundays. I hated how they treated me. Some other teams also treated me horribly. A few teams were respectful professionals who tried to help the business grow.
Abuse at Schwab is real. Run and find something else.
Save every penny. Create a second income stream within the limits and reporting requirements. Interview.
Schwab covers insurance costs themselves. UHC and Kaiser are administrators. That means, legal or not, anyone with medical issues becomes a target.
Don’t complain. Don’t go to heroic efforts. Examine what is important and what isn’t.
Different management teams have different tells. Most are bad, but some, as example, don’t care about a hallway ask unless they ask twice. Others only when they are called out. Figure out what model they’re operating under and work may be manageable.
But do not harm your health or stress about this. That’s ten times worse than saying you don’t have the bandwidth.
