Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Recent Layoffs

Seeing several recent postings on LinkedIn about 3Mers recently laid off.
Is these recent? In the past week or month? Heard many were let go late last year (Q4) that were apart of the 6500# announced in April.
Whats going on? Are the BGs making cuts, or is this corporate wide?

Small and consistent layoffs are the new trend. Not on the same scale as 3M, but Target has been doing this for the past year or so, cutting groups of 30-60 at a time (often sending the work to India) rather than mass layoffs that attract media attention.

SIBG going thru the mud. Clueless Chris marking his territory pi---n all over the group after vale. Guy hasn’t an idea to grow a biz. He’s seeking to fight for Bill’s succession given there is any existence come his time to shine

Anyone thinks that new CEO will start with a BIG bang cut?

SIBG is having 250 cuts, mainly USAC. I don’t think company wide, but they seem small and constant - maybe to avoid headlines

I known of some colleagues from BT who are laid off once the R4 deployment was successful. They were let go in End Dec 2023.
