Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I wasn't impacted by the LR

However, starting right now, I assume that I WILL be impacted the next quarter, and I will try my hardest to move to another company. This includes strengthening my resume, interview prep, and doing the absolute minimum to get by. I will try SO HARD as if I just lost my job and need to find a new one. I can't stand this sh-t anymore. Fu-k this company.

By posting here, I made my path forward clear. I will not regret wasting any of my time when I get laid off. Good luck to you all.

And it only took 23 years of continuous layoffs to figure this out!

What's problem with you, blackrock is a financial firm. These Cisco people are totally ignorant. This is exactly how Cisco likes it, ignorant unaware not well rounded workers would be more controllable and obedient to Cisco. UNTIL the minute Cisco let you go!!

I think I know which partner you are talking about, they claim they are black owned company. Whatever that maybe, use black only as a decoration to get government contracts. If it's same one, they have many state and local contracts, at this region they are working with all 3 airport rebuilds

But best of luck to you.

I can’t say the Partner name ;) but they sell more Cisco SLED than anyone….

I worked for Cisco prior to and got caught in the great Cisco layoff of 20152016. I went to work at this partner and was there for almost 8 years…..not 1 week severance for anyone. Total BS.

Not saying I’ll never work for a large multi-billion company again because I’ll go where it pays me, but I am trying to avoid. Culture su-ks. They want you to be loyal - takes months to get hired and then over in an instance without any thought of waking you out the door with zero severance.

I’m obviously still sour and when I get the next gig, it’s only onward and upward. But damn…..

I feel for you all and good luck - Godspeed

I need to get out of this sinking ship, there's no hope, Cisco is not able to sell. Blaming on partners on deployment ( which is a lie), blaming on employees by laying off, what else is next? Can't blame on customers, they're your boss, you can't force them to buy your products.

This sounds scary, which partner has 6 billion sales?

They said slow sales due to partners slow in deployment of Cisco inventory, this meaning partners still have too much work to do.

If partners are laying off that means no inventory for deployment, Cisco is not selling. It's a contradict statement from Cisco.

It's obviously Cisco is lying to investors

Was recently impacted by a RIF at a $6B Cisco partner. They didn’t give us any package and walked everyone out the door 10min after the HR call. 15% of the workforce.

I hope you all at least got some package.

this is just a recency bias. almost everyone thinks like this when layoffs are announced but soon they fall back into daily routine and learn to live with it. breaking out of comfort zone is not that easy and up skilling required to get better job in market needs lot of commitment.

Set a reminder in your calendar for 3 months from now and then revisit this page to tell us if you really did what you said. If you are one of those 1% people who stick to their plan then everybody will be happy for you my friend.

I think the company is in shock. It's almost like the last shutdown, there are no emails, no calls, no Webex chats for the last 2 days. I've never seen anything like it. The only activity seems to be people catching up with each other to see if they've been impacted, or to say goodbye.
